    Craig Hutchison from New Zealand

Craig Hutchison I learned a lot about our Co Executive Producer of Donna On The Go, Craig Hutchison during a recent Radio interview on KFPK 90.7FM. I had the pleasure of sitting next to him and learning of his many talents. He is a Director and an Executive Producer on two award winning short films, Letter For Hope and Utu Pihikete. He is also very involved with the Disability Community in New Zealand. Craig’s company Lifelinks mission is to provide people who have disabiliti

Peggy Lane is in my Ears and in my Eyes

Peggy Lane! This amazing woman worked on the top shows in the business such as Seinfeld, Will & Grace and King of Queens. She was Dialogue and Acting Coach to Margo Martindale and Molly Shannon, who recently mentioned her in the ABILITY Magazine. She was quoted as saying that Peggy’s coaching was a pivotal part of her landing her role on the HBO show Divorce. Peggy also coached Richard Dreyfus for his role on Weeds. I am honored to work with her on Donna On The Go. At five ye

    Done For The Day

Done For The Day I look at the walker before I fall asleep and I say I’m done for the day! Done navigating walls, as I walk with the walker, holding on to the walker and sometimes the walls. Done with navigating stepping in the shower. Today I am done with navigating around the kitchen to eat something. I travel from the fridge to the counter with my milk, bread or anything else I need for a meal in the bag hooked onto my walker, If I forgot something I have to walk back to t

    ABILITIES EXPO 2019

Abilities Expo I’ve been an Ambassador for the Los Angeles Abilities Expo for the last 4 years and last year and this year our show Donna On The Go had a Booth at the Expo. This was the largest ever Expo in the 40 year history of the event. Preparing for the Abilities Expo is a lot of work. Peggy lists all the items we need to put together the Donna On The Go Booth this includes, tables, chairs, television, and electrical equipment, all need to be checked and ready to go. Sh

    I Wanna Dance With Somebody

I Wanna Dance With Somebody Donna On The Go: DANCE started out as a workshop piece and was performed at the Abilities Expo and was featured in Season 1. It is Choreographed by Tam Warner, and it flourished into a larger production to close Season 2. The title of this episode is appropriately called: DANCE. It takes time to feel comfortable when dancing with a partner. I had to feel relaxed and have trust while falling in Scott’s arms. Scott Hislop is a pro and it didn’t take

    Cue The Music

CUE THE MUSIC I had just come back on November 29 from visiting family on the East Coast for Thanksgiving and had an ear and sinus infection. My hearing was just about completely gone! The studio was booked months ago for rehearsal on December 9 and filming shoot for December 10. I panicked and was afraid that I would not be able to do the rehearsal or the filming. I had to follow through with this commitment everything was in place - Dancers, Production Crew, and studio ti

    Shop Til You Drop

SHOP TIL YOU DROP After Season 2 of our show Donna On The Go, we were overwhelmed with requests for merchandise for the show both Nationally and Internationally so… Peggy Lane spent hours designing and creating the Donna On The Go Store. If you need a Web Site Peggy is the one to call. She set up pricing, shipping and tax as I watched in amazement, and she obviously has the patience to do computer work. Her passion and commitment to figuring things out is such a gift. The Don

    FALL by Peggy Lane

FALL was based on a true story. People fall down. Especially people who use walkers and/or wheelchairs. And they need help getting back up. That was the premise behind the episode Fall. I’m Peggy Lane, the Writer, Producer and Director of this episode. I wanted it to tie in with the next 2 episodes which featured a dance called Fall For You. It would be a trilogy about Falling. And getting up. I didn’t want it to be sad but wanted it to be honest so I thought, why not get th

    Big Sister, Little Sisters

BIG SISTER, LITTLE SISTERS My friend Jennifer and I have known each other for 20 years. We first met at a Turner Syndrome Symposium held at UCLA. Jennifer impressed me as a mature outspoken young adult, and talked about how she mentored and was a big sister to young girls with Turner Syndrome. After the Symposium, I went home with a lot of information about Turner Syndrome. It is a chromosomal condition where a female has one X chromosome missing or incomplete. Some of the sy

    UnBrakeable

UNBRAKEABLE When Legendary Stuntman and Supervising Producer, Vince Deadrick Jr. pitched the episode Donna On The Go: REALLY about a runaway wheelchair, Peggy was in a state of shock. I heard one end of the phone conversation where Peggy was saying Uh huh, right Vince, and yes sure. Her face was telling me she was in disbelief and amazement. What’s going on? What could Vince be saying? I was anxious to find out. Vince would meet us and explain the details. He walked people th

    That's My Space Man!

THAT’S MY SPACE, MAN The excitement was everywhere. I was getting my car washed and vacuumed, and Peggy was on her way to the airport to pick up Craig Hutchison, Supervising Producer of Season 1 and Season 2 of Donna On The Go from New Zealand. Craig is the Director of this episode. He flew 20 hours to stay a few days to Direct and Co-Edit Donna On The Go: GARAGE with Peggy Lane, the Creator and Executive Producer of the show. It was not easy walking with the walker around th

    Showtime!

SHOWTIME In 2014 Emmy submitted Choreographer Tam Warner and I did a live performance of the You Tube video “I Won’t Give Up” with Dancers Tara Nicole Hughes and Kelleia Sheerin. Tara Nicole Hughes just was an Associate Choreographer along with Rob Marshall on Mary Poppins Returns. This performance led to other performances and for me the role of Ambassador for Abilities Expo. I am so proud to be an Ambassador for this noble organization. In 2017 Tam and I did a performance f

    Putting It Together

Putting It Together I am happiest when I am Dancing and Performing. When I dance at Abilities Expo I have such joy sharing my emotions and telling a story through movement. The connection with an audience is like no other feeling I have experienced. The Choreographer I worked with on this dance called “Fall For You” is an artist, and I am honored to work with her. Her name is Tam Warner. The episode of Donna On The Go called Rehearsal shows how I use a scooter to get around t

    Won't You Be My Neighbor?

Won’t You Be My Neighbor? I can’t believe I worked with Vince Deadrick Jr.! Creator and Producer Peggy Lane worked with Vince for several years, and he agreed when she asked him if he wanted to appear in an episode. He is a Legendary Stuntman who has doubled Michael Douglas and Jeff Bridges among many others. Vince has worked in movies and television, appearing in Titanic, Romancing the Stone, MacGyver, Iron Man and many more. He has been nominated for 2 Emmys and he won the

    Sliding Doors

Sliding Doors Often people ask us how we get ideas for our episodes of our Emmy submitted series Donna On The Go. They are the result of our day to day life experiences. The episode “Elevator” was inspired by an actual Doctor’s visit. This particular office has an elevator that closes quickly. A little too quickly for me and my walker. It kept closing just as I would reach the door. This happened over and over again and I was concerned about being late for the appointment I w

Donna On The Go: Emmy Results

Blog 10/29/2018 Nothing was going to stop us! I was planning on celebrating with Peggy Lane at the Emmys! We were going to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of our Emmy submitted show Donna On The Go. Peggy Lane, the Creator and Executive Producer spent countless hours promoting, editing and filming. Season Two was completed and both of us were feeling proud. The process of getting ready for the Emmys began. As I was getting ready, and on the mend from a fall that
